qvacapps

About

What this is, and who runs it.

This is an independent directory of the QVAC ecosystem: the applications built on Tether's local AI platform, the models and datasets it ships, and the developer tooling underneath. It exists because no such index existed, and because a platform is easier to evaluate when you can see what has actually been built on it.

Who maintains it

The directory is maintained by localhost/AI, a studio that also builds applications on QVAC. Three of the apps listed here — Local Notes, Local Money, and Local Talk — are ours.

We think you should know that before you read anything else on the site, which is why it is on this page and in the footer of every other one. Our apps carry our name in the developer field of their listings, exactly as Tether's apps carry theirs.

Released apps are listed before unreleased ones, and alphabetically within each group — which currently places Tether's two shipped apps above our three unshipped ones. Ours are not featured, promoted, or given more space than anyone else's, and they are described with the same restraint. If an app is not released, its listing says so and has no download links, ours included.

This is a conflict of interest. It is a disclosed one. Judge the directory on whether the information in it is accurate and whether the ordering is what we say it is.

Not affiliated with Tether

QVAC is a Tether Data project. This site has no relationship with Tether, is not endorsed by them, and speaks for nobody but its maintainer. QVAC and related names are used descriptively, to refer to the thing they refer to. Tether's own site is at qvac.tether.io and is the authority on anything they say about their own products.

What gets listed

An application qualifies if it is built on QVAC — the SDK, the Fabric engine, or both. That is the whole criterion, and it is deliberately narrow.

It excludes some good software. PearPass, Keet, and Tether Wallet are all local-first, all peer-to-peer, and all built on the Pear runtime and the Holepunch stack rather than on QVAC. They contain no local inference. They belong to a sibling ecosystem, and listing them here would make the word "QVAC" mean "roughly, privacy software from Tether," which would make this directory less useful rather than more.

Unreleased apps are listed when they have been publicly announced by their developer, marked clearly, and given no download links until they have somewhere to link to.

Corrections and submissions

Every entry is a file. If something here is wrong, or if you have built something on QVAC that should be listed, send a pull request or open an issue. Corrections from developers about their own software will be taken at their word. See Build for how.

If you would rather not use GitHub, the maintainer's contact details are on localhost/AI.

Sources

Facts on this site come from Tether's documentation, their newsroom, the QVAC repository, and the app store listings. Where a claim is Tether's own — a benchmark result, a performance figure — it is attributed as theirs rather than presented as independently verified, because it has not been.
